Peace and Hope

 Sometimes it is so crazy to ask for peace. Especially during these times where everywhere you look there is strife and conflict. There is not a single news story, Facebook post, or Instagram story, that isn't conflicting to someone. Then there are those people who viciously attack people online just for the thrill of it. It is sickening. My friends, why is it so hard for Christians to promote peace? We belong to a God who is the ultimate peacemaker. In order to save us from His wrath and His anger, He sent His Son to die for our many sins, He sent His Son to be the ultimate sacrifice so that we would be at peace with God and His anger would not burn against us anymore. We are told to live like Christ because His example of life will bring about the happiness we all pursue and the prosperity we all want. Yet we couldn't be more divided! The church could not be more divided! We are the body of Christ, yet every body part seems to want to do its own thing. What we forget is that the one body part cannot function right without the others. You cannot walk without assistance if you cannot see. The body needs each and every part to work functionally. We need each other in order to spread God's word effectively. We need a wave of peace among the body of Christ. 


Then and only then will we be able to spread the message of Hope, Our country is hungry for hope. A Nation completely hopeless has forgotten what it felt like to have hope. And we can bring it back together. We can provide that hope to our hope-starved Nation by the message of Jesus. The deliverance of good news. That there is a God who chose to make peace with us by giving His only Son and giving us hope by loving us enough to allow His Son to die for our sins. A punishment we rightfully deserved. God showed His love in this: While we were sinners He died for us. While we were sinners, He still pursued us. He longed for us to find that happiness He had to offer. That peace He had to give. That hope He had promised. Our hope is found in Jesus Christ who justified us by grace because we were guilty and deserved death. He gave us life! Now we as Christians hold the key to Peace and Hope. Open the door and let everyone in!

The fruits of the Spirit - Challenge

 With Christians, the fruit of the Spirit can be really hard to follow through. We think well I can love today but I can't be joyful, or I can be patient today doesn't necessarily mean I can be kind. It feels almost impossible to follow all the fruits of the Spirit, but nothing is impossible with God. Ask yourself these questions on a daily basis and respond to them truthfully. When you do, it will help you know what you need to come before God with and ask Him for help in that fruit. Ask yourself this;       How am I showing love today?  Is Joy in my heart? How can I bring peace in my life? Am I being patient with those around me? Am I being kind? How am I showing gentleness to others? Am I being faithful to God and others? Am I controlling myself? If you said no, or you answered it in a negative way to any of these, pray that God will give you more strength in that fruit of the Spirit. Work on that fruit for the rest of the day. Worship

 When I worship, I tend to find myself wondering if I am giving my full effort into my faith with God. Many times I go about a day without even thinking, "is what I am doing pleasing to God?" It can be hard to truly be faithful in worship to my Father. Worship is about more than just singing songs in church, with hands high in the air, swaying back and forth. Worship is about letting God know just how much we appreciate all He has done for us, and He has done a lot.  Sometimes it is hard to remember that, especially when I am going through a rough time.
